When to Visit

Uganda is broadly accessible year-round. The two main dry seasonsJune–August and December–February — are ideal for gorilla trekking and game viewing. The wet seasons (March–May and September–November) offer lush landscapes, fewer visitors, and dramatic waterfalls.

Local Etiquette & Language

Ugandans are friendly, respectful and proud of their cultural heritage. A simple “Hello” or “Gyebale ko” (in Luganda) is appreciated. English is widely spoken; Swahili and many indigenous languages also commonly used. Modest dress is advised in rural and religious areas, and always ask before taking photographs of people.
